A wonderful city Hamburg located where me Elbe rolls to the North Sea. Its bridges are the most numerous comparing to any European city - more then in famed thousand times praised Venice, more then in the great London, more then in self-proud Amsterdam rolled into one: they are around two and half thousand here!
Free and Hanseatic city of Hamburg - this is its full name. Having such a “surname” it doesn’t need extra recommendations and presentations. Everything is in this name: federal significance, and ancient history, strength and power, wide economic and thereafter cultural relationship with the whole world. In XIII - XVIII centuries Hamburg was in the Hanseatic league - strong military block of merchant guild, which had implemented a trading monopoly in the Baltic Sea, partially captured the North Sea and main part of the North Europe.
Every best thing in the world was sooner or later brought to Hamburg. Gates of city fortification are pictured on its flaa and the coat of arms and, they say, that is why it is call the ‘Gates to the world”. Probably, there’s a sophisticated implication in those sayings. From the old times this city had won the alory, it was and still remains one of the greatest ports of the world, commercialand cultural center of North Germany. Say the least of it, one can begrudge its history.

Whatever you esthetic preferences are, you will for sure find something interesting in Hamburg.
