What to recommend for you where to eat in Riga? That really depends what you want to do: have a drink, dance or something else. Just to drink I love you bar as Aldara street or Sarkans (Stabu street).
Lido Krasta is very nice Latvian restaurant with girls in Latvian dress and not expensive, so you chose your own food. They’re brew there own beer too. The place is massive, huge and has 2 floors and ice skating ring that is largest in Baltics. You can visit fun park for kids so go back to your childhood.
If you would like to glance on local movie/theater/pop-music faces then go to Sarkans (Red) already mentioned here. Besides people you wouldn’t recognize there is quite relaxed and ‘anything may happen’ atmosphere.
I would highly recommend the Metropole Hotel on the edge of the old town too. You can’t fail to find great bars and the outside drinking tents in one of the squares with live bands. Beware the Black Balsam it will rock your world the best shooter drink.
You can visit Double Coffee a chain that is tourist friendly. They do loads more than coffee - large menu and some excellent alcoholic coffees at reasonable prices. There’re Spotikacs on Antoninas in Central Riga (it’s in the area of famous Art Nouveau buildings not far from the National Theater) and had a superb meal with starters, main course a bottle of wine and a couple of large vodkas for under £20 for the two of us. This is a Ukrainian restaurant and quite cosy too.
Steiku Haoss for Stakes are very popular among big groups of men visiting. Last year during the world ice hockey championship they fed also some teams and everybody was very satisfied. They have several locations, the most popular is the old town restaurant on Meistaru street.
